Three Eagles Axed
No surprise for Jones - when Notte was selected in front of him twice the writing was on the wall.
Thomson is a chance to be relisted as a rookie.
Armstrong made a late surge with some serviceable games in the midfield, where really he belongs. But it was not enough - I guess the decision was made earlier in the year regarding Army, which is a shame but that’s footy.
When you consider both Jones and Armstrong were rookie listed after stints at other clubs, and Thompson was number 80 draft selection it is not surprising these guys were the first to go.
To all three players we wish you all the best with your futures.

Who else would go?
As you would look to upgrade Wilkes and the NSW boy.
Seaby? Staker? McKinley? Butler? Waters?

You’re right we need AT least FIVE OFF the list - 3 draft picks + 2 upgrades.
McKinley is apparently close to re-signing for two years.
Braun is gone and so Wilkes takes his spot.
I reckon Staker is on the way out but unless we get a top 20 pick for him (unlikely) then someone else needs to be cut. Fletcher might be most likely, but he is contracted.
Jaymie Graham will be on the trading block but again I can’t see any takers and is most likely to be gone IMO.

Agree. I’m really hoping that Staker re-signs, Graham must be on shaky ground if so.
