Well it’s agreed then - that was unacceptable. It was also disappointing, disgraceful and embarrassing. Not to mention frustrating.

I guess now we’re talking about it we just need to get on with drawing some lines in the sand, spend some time in reflection on what went wrong and make sure we all work hard going forward.

Blah blah blah.

We got flipping well pumped, again, by a team - although admittedly better than us - that has in the past 25 years bucked all trends and cycles has consistently excelled at sub-mediocrity. If nothing else it was a beautifully symbolic snapshot of exactly where we stand in the grand scheme of things; 0.47% off the spoon.

All us fans have trawled over game plans, endless ins and outs, the merits of who’s staying and who’s going in 09, coaching staff, potential draftees, trades and everything that could possibly by related to the blue and gold of our beloved team. But the truth is, we’re all stuffed if we know how we have got some utterly useless so quickly.

I got to tell you I am aghast at how weak as wet paper our performance in 2008 have been. I’m told when someone suffers a major trauma in their life one of the first stages is denial before it all sinks in. I don’t know about you but I am still between denial and it all sinking in.

Two years ago we talked of dynasties. Now our team sucks.

I just wish I had a diagnosis for it - it would at least make me feel better about it all.

Ps - Cox had another good game. McKinley and Wirra each kicked 3 goals. Richmond kicked 11 goals 1 in the second quarter. We managed 11 for the entire game.
