  1. Fair enough, I think we’ve all been on the end of those at some stage of our lives

I’m no fan of Chad Fletcher, but he’s been unfairly singled out. For mine, he played no better, or worse than at any time over the last three seasons (’06 Grand Final aside). To somehow now suggest that his career might be on the line at the end of the season is, to me about 21/2 seasons too late. He was worth something to trade then.
I’ve had plenty of less enjoyable viewings at Subi. Like losing to both Brisbane and St kilda last year, and getting run down Sydney and all their scragging, off the ball c**p this year. Not to mention losing to the Derkers. I hate getting beaten by sides who are no better and probably ‘worse’ than us. But you couldn’t say that about Geelong. They were a Rolls Royce compared to our two stroke Victor. Sure we were c**p, but how good were they?

  3. I guess for me, what I hated about this game was the total lack of any redeeming feature to our play. Geelong were sensational. But equally we were inept.

The Sydney game was painful - but give me that over a 100 point flogging. I can at least find some solace in the fact our boys stuck to their guns, rose to the challenge and, in that case, got pipped at the post.

Fletcher wasn’t the worst - some of younger brigade were completely overmatched and some of the other more established players were entirely absent. Unfortunately, it seems like WCE tradition that we have a whipping boy. And right now Fletcher is it.

What Fletcher doesn’t have that others do is time on his side. His best footy is behind him (or at least certainly not in front of him) and unfortunately that will mean he’ll struggle to be part of the rebuild. And he won’t be alone.

  4. Redeeming feature - Schofield still running his guts out, from a position most would have given up as a lost cause, to smother and prevent Mooney’s goal - even though we were about 20 goals down. There you go Bruce. :D

  5. I’ll pay that Fordy. And I will pay some good work by Cox and 3 goals to LeCras.

    But that is it :)

  6. The thing that gets me is that the way people carried on on how we brought in 5 premiership players. imo the wrap of being a premiership player is hog wash. No way someone like Armstrong is better than Skilton or even Harvey who have not won one before.
