West Coast Eagles - Round 9 Team

It appears as though the West Coast Eagle’s list assessment is well and truly under way with the introduction of two more 08 debutants. Beau Wilkes and Tim Houlihan have been named for their debut against the Crows on Saturday at Subi.

Wilkes comes from our rookie list and has been a key backman at Claremont of note. Lately he’s been run through the middle at times as well which is another aspect to his game. Houlihan has been in scintilating form with East Freo and has drafted to the Eagles in 2006 draft. Wingman or half back Houlihan has an exceptional motor and possesses good skills.

Out go Mark Nicoski and Jaymie Graham. Both players have dropped off the pace in recent times and now entering their mid 20s they would be considered at risk of being retained for 2009. Graham’s role has been compromised by less teams playing tall forward lines in the past couple of seasons and Nicoski has not gone on with it after looking the goods in 2005/06. Let’s hope they bounce back.
