West Coast Eagles - Round 4 Team

Five changes (yes 5 and possibly more) for the Eagles team taking on Sydney Saturday night.

WEST COAST
B: Brent Staker, Adam Hunter, Shannon Hurn
HB: Brett Jones, Darren Glass, Adam Selwood
C: Andrew Embley, Daniel Kerr, Michael Braun
HF: Steven Armstrong, Ashley Hansen, Jamie McNamara
F: Ben McKinley, Quinten Lynch, Mark Seaby
Foll: Dean Cox, Tyson Stenglein, Beau Waters
I/C: Chris Masten, Matt Rosa, Scott Selwood. Matt Spangher
EMG: Brad Ebert, Josh Kennedy, Mark Nicoski

In: Armstrong, McNamara, Spangher, Rosa, Masten
Out: Matt Priddis (knee), David Wirrpanda (hamstring), Brad Ebert, Chad Fletcher, Mark Nicoski

New: Matt Spangher (Eastern under-18)

Dean Cox has been named but I would suspect Kennedy will come in for him and possibly Ebert for Glass as Matt Spangher has been named for his debut after successfully shutting down Subi’s goal machine Brad Smith last weekend.

Good to see McNamara (a good swap for Priddis) and Masten in to get another run. The fact is our improvement will come from these blokes so get them in and get some games into their legs.

No change to the confident Swans side.

EDIT: Now Embley is out. Apparently he was too ill to travel. All three emergencies have traveled. I expect Nicoski to come in.

  1. Papers over here are predicting the first blowout between these two sides in years. Considering the last few margins have been single digit I think they are talking about 30+ points being a blowout.

So what is wrong with Cox? Do you think he will play?

  2. Tim just from an experience point of view this is a weak side. Any time you make now 6+ changes I reckon you are struggling. A blow-out is a pretty big possibility on that basis. I just hope we find some of that Eagles fight and belief and make it another great Swans - Eagles game.

Cox injured his foot accidentally kicking Wirrpanda in last weeks game. I don’t reckon he’ll play.
