NAB Challenge: West Coast Eagles vs Carlton Wrap

The late news is the West Coast Eagles continued their solid build up to 22nd March (Round 1) with a comfortable 41 point win over Carlton in Alice Springs.

For some reason, it appears there was only one journo in Alice Springs covering the game and so every outlet ran with the same intro of “AN EXPERIENCED West Coast Eagles outfit proved too strong for a young Carlton line-up tonight…”.

This, of course, belies the fact we were playing an extremely young side in Alice and had over a third of the best 22 sitting out the game. Good signs for our team.

As I was not the one bloke with a keyboard at the game in Alice, here’s the wrap of the game from around the net:

  • Mark Seaby a shining light for Eagles (PerthNow)
  • Kennedy finds his wings (Herald-Sun)
  • Kerr set to miss pre-season tune-up (The Age)
  • Our next and last NAB challenge game is Friday night 6:40pm, at Subiaco, West Coast Eagles vs. Essendon.

    3. K2K - I think you just did plug it. Happy to exchange links with you. If you’re keen, let me know.

Carnie - I have just clarified with the AFL and it is the Melbourne-based version of the Bombers we’re playing, not the local port variety. it’s a whole new generation of bummers to hate down at windy hill these days too.
