Shock News: Mitchell Brown out for the season

mitchellbrown-wce.jpegTerrible news for Mitchell Brown this evening with the news he will need a full need reconstruction after injuring the knee in the game against Collingwood at the weekend.

The West Coast Eagles took Brown pick 16 in the 2006 draft and he had impressed in defence against the Pies go-to forward Anthony Rocca. It is a cruel blow to the WCE emerging key position player to have 2008 written off.

Whilst there were no reports of Brown being injured during the game, the injury apparently occurred when he hyper-extended the knee during the third term.

Best wishes to Mitch as he recovers from the reconstructed surgery and we hope he comes back better in 2009.

  1. So many knees going this pre season, Malceski & Thornton (Sydney), Haselby (Freo), Dick (Collingwood) and now you man here. It’s a shame as most of them were just coming to something great in their careers.

  2. Tim, Malceski will be a big loss for you guys after such a stellar year last season. Brown is only 19 and so there is time for him to get right. Either way, it’s a shame to lose players from the game for a season under these circumstances
