Out go Mitch Brown and 2004 All Australian Chad Fletcher. Fletcher is one of those types which seem to polarise Eagles’ fans and so there will be some not unhappy to see him out, but given the Eagles’ match committees inclination to stick by players it is somewhat surprising.**
In come Beau Waters, Steven Armstrong, along with Jaymie Graham who returns from injury, Mark Nicoski is back after missing the first half of the year with a dislocated shoulder and Chad Jones, younger brother of Brett and formerly of the Kangaroos, who has been elevated form the rookie list after some red hot WAFL form up forward.
Waters is straight into the side, and my guess either one of Graham or Chad Jones (Chones?) will replace Brown. Armstrong is a chance to squeeze out LeCras and I think Nicoski might get another week in the WAFL.
Either way expect a new look forward set up on Sunday with help for Big Q in the form of Graham or Hunter or the new chum Chones. I’d love to see Chones get a run whilst he’s in good nick but either way, whilst it is a far cry from the build up to the last 3 clashes with the Saints, the expected changes will make for good watching.
**UPDATE - Fletcher has a groin strain according to Ten News.

Not that I think the backline was the problem in the last game but gee it’s good to see Nicoski and Waters back. Link that up with Steve Jones and that’s good rebound pace.
Long overdue for Jaymie Graham as well - has he been injured?
Throw a returning Embley and Hansen into the mix sometime soon and it all looks a lot better.

Steve Jones? Stones? Bloody hell, they’re like rabbits, never heard of that Jones before. Jones is the new Nathan Brown.
Graham has had a knee problem which kept him out for a few weeks, but was playing and wasn’t able to force his way into the seniors for a while before that happened.

Also I reckon Cousins will be back before too long - looking very good for the second half of the season.

I really like Lynch up the ground a bit. I’d like to see him mark 80m’s out turn and either look for Chones and Hunter on the lead or pump it to Seaby or Graham in the square. Throw Morton into the spaces and all of a sudden we have a potentially damaging forward line.

Okay, so it should have been Brett.
