The Official West Coast Eagles Team 20
On Saturday night the West Coast Eagles unveiled their Team 20 - their best ever side over the club’s twenty years of existence.
I unveiled The Soaring version here last week, and the official side is not a lot different.
West Coast Eagles - Team 20
Backs: David Wirrpanda, Ashley McIntosh, Michael Brennan
Half-backs: Guy McKenna, Glen Jakovich, John Worsfold
Centres: Chris Mainwaring, Dean Kemp, Peter Matera
Half-forwards: Brett Heady, Mitchell White, Chris Lewis
Forwards: Tony Evans, Peter Sumich, Phillip Matera
Ruck: Dean Cox, Chris Judd, Ben Cousins
Interchange: Chris Waterman, Drew Banfield, Don Pyke, Dwayne Lamb
Coach: Michael Malthouse
I had Daniel Kerr and David Hart in for Tony Evans and Dwayne Lamb. It’s a toss up really. Although Kerr’s stature grows by the week and I’d argue that history could show him to be stiff to miss out to the expense of Evans or even Dwayne Lamb.
Anyway, there’s always the Team 25, Team 30, Team 40…

Yep, saw your side earlier and it looked great, and very similar to the official version which is good too. I wouldn’t have Kerr in right now, but I have no doubt that he’ll be a cert for Team Whateverthenextmilestoneis. Jewf probably missed because he was such a similar type to Wirra, but would have been a worthy inclusion.
