Flying High with the West Coast Eagles

The Oracle of Dunstall

It’s early days I know, but this article carries the author’s name as “Jason Dunstall, Hawthorn Legend” and then produces the following under the title:

Dockers may be best from west

While the innovative tactics will still play their part, key marking forwards Matthew Pavlich, Luke McPharlin and Justin Longmuir ensure that the Dockers will kick longer and more effectively into their attacking 50 zone.

A midfield equal to any in the competition means plenty of quality ball for the forwards and less stress for the defence.

It also means that, like a lot of other suckers, I’m falling into the Dockers again in 2006 and tipping them to play a serious part in the finals action.

The Eagles should be poised for premiership glory but the events of the off-season threaten to derail their chances. Coach John Worsfold must be scratching his head wondering what he did wrong.

I think he’s just playing off his superstitions with his Hawks playing (and beating the Dockers) yesterday in Launceston. And from all accounts in worked a treat.

Perception is a funny thing Jason, for all the media beat up I think our boys will be fine come the end of the season. The purple pride? I’m not so sure and aren’t all that bothered to be truthful so I’ll leave the “big things for the Dockers” predictions to you.
