Better shoot this over the Adrian Anderson to sort out:
A letter in today’s Canberra Times suggests that the 2006 season could be “a bit of a fizzer” if the anti-terrorist laws take out the Bombers, the IR laws exclude the Dockers, and avian flu gets the Crows, Swans, Eagles, Hawks and Magpies.
Not to forget that under the Racial and Religious Tolerance Act, both the Demons and the Saints could also be in trouble. The World Wildlife Fund would no doubt object to the Lions and Tigers, and given energy problems in South Australia in recent years, the Power could also be on the way out. With greater awareness of mental health problems, the Blues are definitely out.
Bulldogs are out due to public concerns about violent dog breeds, which means that the contest will be between the Kangaroos and the Cats…until the RSPCA involve themselves…
Could be a quiet season!
Now if only we can stockpile the vaccine we’re a shoo in for the premiership…
