More Delistings…
The list purging continues around the AFL with the player carousel throwing off aborted careers daily. One of the newly delisted is one-time Troy Wilson replacement, David Haynes.
Haynes was traded to Geelong at the end of 2003 in a move that surprised some after he played most of that season in the FF role. Quick off the mark, a booming kick - albeit as straight and reliable as a shopping trolley - and with good hands on the lead Haynes showed some promise with the Eagles. Less so at Geelong.
After Big Bad Boofy Brett Spinks and an aged Mitchell White you’d think they’d have learnt. We’d have to happy with Sammy Butler (#20) who we secured in exchange for Haynes, who the Cat’s obviously feel has lost the lustre of potential he once had. All the best David in life beyond the AFL.
